Mat Teacher Training
The Pilates Mat Teacher Training is a comprehensive 100-hour program designed to equip trainees with a strong foundation in classical and contemporary Pilates matwork. This course will cover essential anatomy, functional movement principles, beginner–intermediate mat repertoire, cueing techniques, programming, and practical teaching experience.
Curriculum Breakdown
Lectures & Curriculum Study — 34 hours
Covers Pilates history, foundational principles, applied anatomy, movement biomechanics, class structure, cueing, sequencing, contraindications, and programming for different populations.
Observation — 20 hours
Students will observe certified instructors teaching real classes to learn verbal cueing, flow, pacing, and client management.
Self-Practice — 16 hours
Trainees complete personal practice sessions to embody the work, reinforce repertoire, and deepen movement understanding.
Student Teaching — 12 hours
Supervised or peer teaching to develop voice, confidence, and clarity in cueing and class design.
Assistant Teaching — 3 hours
Trainees assist a qualified instructor in live classes to experience layered teaching, hands-on support, and class logistics.
Private or Group Sessions With a Qualified Teacher Trainer — 12 hours
Includes personalised guidance on teaching technique, movement analysis, and skill development.
Qualified Teacher Trainer Observation — 1 hour
One focused hour observing a master teacher with guided notes and reflective learning.
Written Exam — 1 hour
Assessing understanding of anatomy, movement principles, repertoire, and teaching methodology.
Practical Exam — 1 hour
A live teaching assessment to demonstrate competency in cueing, sequencing, safety, and flow.
Reformer Teacher Training

Reformer Equipment Foundations
Understanding all components of the Reformer, springs, safety, setup, and client positioning.
Beginner–Intermediate Repertoire
Breakdown of classical and contemporary exercises, with variations and purposeful sequencing.
Modifications & Progressions
How to adjust exercises for injury, pregnancy, mobility limitations, or athletic populations.
Teaching Methodology
Cueing, tactile and verbal corrections, flow, class design, and working with groups versus privates.
Programming & Sequencing
Creating balanced, functional classes that reflect your studio’s modern, restorative-yet-energetic style.
Hands-On Practice
Students will practice teaching and self-practice movements to embody the work and build confidence on the equipment.
